"New You" Weighloss Tablets

Very fed up because of no actualy kilos lost so went to the chemist and asked about 100% natural (and reputable) tablets which may help with the mission.

We decided on "New You : Burn - Stimulant Free, Kick Start!"
I hope this helps! :( Feeling very dispondant.

I also hope that it truly does not cause me any palpitations..

Included in the box is a weighloss diet - its very similar to my diet at the moment - something has got to give!!!

Woo Hooo!! First weight lost ! :D
At least that is what I am hoping! My NEW scale sort of does what it wants and I need to stand on it about 5 times, take the highest reading, and use that. Would love to return the damn thing but have been so busy that its too late now!

Woke up feeling hungry today. Which I always feel is a great thing! Hospital Bills & Simply Slim

Nice. I just heard the more or less exact amount for my hospital bills. R 21 000 . Thats just from Tygerberg - a PROVINCIAL Hospital. Never mind the Private doctors bills. And I still have to have an MRI - which can only be done at a Private Hospital.

Simply Slim = FAIL

Box of diet pills cost me R490 . Also nearly cost me my life.

As well as the minimum of R 21 000 they also have a role in me leaving my job . I also need to pay monthly now for my Heart Tablets. And the worst is that I struggle to do normal things with my daughter as I get tired and out of breath so easily.

Simply Slim = FAIL

How could they let these pills back on the market?!

I don't cook.

I don't. I just don't. And I never have.

I even married a chef.

I am a disaster waiting to happen in la kitchen.

My staple diet used to consist of:

2 minute noodles

….

I used to waitress – which ensures that you get a meal during your shift.. which ensured that I did not need to cook.

OK – if I was not working (waitressing) I used to cook:

2 minute noodles.
…..I would sometimes expand on these by adding pre-chopped vegetable stirfry vegies.
Pasta and cheese (Pasta I CAN cook!)
Spaghetti Bolognaise (You need to have one good dish to cook for your new boyfriend! ; )
Rice
...with pre-chopped vegetable stirfry.
And I used to eat Kelloggs Special K (until they changed them??!!) - out of the box because I don't like milk.

I started to “cook” after I met my husband (even though he is a chef) because I thought it would be very “domesticated” of me to help him in the kitchen. (He soon learned it was better to keep me OUT of the kitchen and no matter how hard I try, I think I am just missing the gene of “domestication”)

We started off with small things such as grating.

First try: Bugger! Grated a shaft of skin off my hand (and I am anal about my hands, being an artist and all)

Second try: Ooow!! Sliced my finger.

Third try: Took so long that by the time Hubby had finished dicing all the vegies he took over my block of cheese (which was only a 3rd grated) and finished it in a bltz.

I tried chopping a few things, and here too ends of my fingers removed and gashes in my hands.

I don't think Hubby quite believed how terrible I am in The Kitchen. With perplexity he once asked me, “So if you are adding carrots to your pasta, how do you cut them?”
(Other thing I can cook: Pasta with peas, carrots and avo)

I went a little red and said, “Like this” :

What I do is sort of “hollow” my mouth out and bite the carrot into little bits and store the little bits in my mouth (like a hamster) til I'm done with said carrot and then drop the carrot bits into my food. This may sound gross to you, but its not like anyone else had to eat it – I'm not grossed out by my own mouth and its much better than losing one of my precious fingers!

(But you don't necessarily need all your fingers for painting, you might say. Well I play the Piano too, so I do!)

I tried to use an oven once to Roast some Vegetables. Burnt the vegetables and burnt my hand.

When I was small I could make a microwave chocolate cake. Microwaves are very useful. You can't burn yourself with a microwave. Things can explode in a microwave, I have learnt. But no harm to flesh so all is good.

If you are sill disgusted about my “carrot chopping” think of how sweet it is when birds feed their teensy tiny baby birds by regurgitating their food. Thats not gross. And I am not even regurgitating.

Enough said ;-)

My work

As I mentioned before, at the beginning of the month I quit my job so I only have about a week left now!

I work in a web design company doing CMS websites as well as manage two local tourism portal/information sites. If you'd like a CMS (content management website) let me know and I will do you a fantastic site for a great price! ;)

Reasons for resigning are:

Health
Daughter (I hardly get to see her)
Art (I am an artist and do not have time to paint as well as work)
Salary
Motivation (Don't feel like I am getting anywhere!)

So I have taken the plunge and am hoping for the best!! *hold thumbs!*

Maxwell Planck Diet

I have been considering trying the Maxwell Planck diet - I hear it works wonderfully. It is as follows:

Diet Sheet of the Max Planck Diet which was apparently suggested by the Max Planck Institute:

Day 1 of the Max Planck Diet
. Breakfast: As much coffee as you like. No sugar
. Lunch: 2 boiled eggs, spinach (slightly salted)
. Dinner: 1 large grilled steak or 3 fried beef steaks, salad and celery

Day 2 of the Max Planck Diet
. Breakfast: Black coffee, no sugar and one bread roll.
. Lunch: 1 large steak, salad and any kind of fruit
. Dinner: unlimited amount of cooked ham

Day 3 of the Max Planck Diet
. Breakfast: black coffee, no sugar and one bread roll
. Lunch: 2 boiled eggs, salad and tomatoes
. Dinner: cooked ham and salad

Day 4 of the Max Planck Diet
. Breakfast: black coffee, no sugar and one bread roll.
. Lunch: 1 boiled egg, raw or boiled carrots and Swiss cheese
. Dinner: fruit and plain yoghurt

Day 5 of the Max Planck Diet
. Breakfast: carrots with lemon and black coffee
. Lunch: steamed fish and tomatoes
. Dinner: 1 steak with salad

Day 6 of the Max Planck Diet
. Breakfast: black coffee and 1 bread toll
. Lunch: grilled chicken
. Dinner: 2 boiled eggs, carrots

Day 7 of the Max Planck Diet
. Breakfast: Tea with lemon juice
. Lunch: 1 grilled steak, any kind of fruit
. Dinner: whatever you like!

I have a few troubles with this though - Because of my arrhythmia etc. I cannot do caffeine. I have also always heard that it is very important to have breakfast as it kick-starts your metabolism for the day. I have never eaten eggs in my life but will give it a go.. I think the whites are better so will forfeit the yolkes (which are the icky part any way). The other thing is I have always been taught to eat at least 6 small meals a day. This diet appears to have three main meals (although I guess you could subsitute some parts eg. fruit) for snacks.

Intersting fact: When I was doing the Weigh-Less Diet I did actually manage to loose a kilo! Not easily, mind you. But it IS the only time since Baba was born that I have lost ANY weight - and I ate alot on this diet!

Why don't I continue with the Weighless Diet ?
I found the weighing and preperation of foods very time consuming and tedious. I really really enjoyed the food though! There are also many pasta meals on the Weigh-Less Diet which became problematic as I have a very low tolerance to resisting pasta! I inevitably ate too much (even if I portioned it)! I also don't believe pasta to be a great food source - refined and all. I don't think Wholewheat Pasta is all that much better either. Carbs such as Sweet Potatos are the bestest and potatos fine too :)

I don't think I will follow the Maxwell Planck Diet to the T, but will follow the basics and keep it posted and see how it goes!

Food, exercise & more 21 June 2010

Current weight: 71.6kg

Breakfast: 1/2 piece Ryvita with 1 slice polony. 3 bites leftover pizza.*Urg. since when do I eat Polony? Was the only protein I could find in the house and have been instructed to eat loads of protein. Polony = gross. (I am a recently reformed vegetarian *Vegan* so that might help you understand the "gross" and "eeuw" comments)

Exercised during my lunch break:
5 minutes spinning and 15 minutes weight training (my trainer was not there so motivation was. LOW

Lunch: Ran out of office for dual purpose of exercising as well as removing myself from office snacks today. Did however have one teensy meatball and chicken something-or-other. Half a protein shake.

Afternoon snack: Other half of my protein shake
And really hungry now! Looking forward to supper! What to have, what to have..?

Only got home now (19:05) and feel nauseous I am so hungry! Had a tiny ramikin of humus whilst waiting for dinner to cook. Have decided on a small piece of steak and spinach.
Dinner was actually surprisingly tasty: Steak was fried with weighless "Spray & Cook" and the spinach was steamed with Fat Free Cottage Cheese. The cottage cheese turned really watery though. I could only find Chunky Cottage Cheese, but next time will try the Smooth variety.

and more motivation..

This is more serious motivation to get healthy.

In my quest for weight-loss I took some "100% natural weight-loss pills" called Simply Slim. These were definately NOT 100% natural and to cut a long story short I have been in and out of the hospital (ICU nogal)on many occassions during the last 4 months and have been told that I am "lucky to be alive". Aparantely (let me just ask for pardon at this exact moment about my spelling!) these tablets have another ingredient which is double the legal dose which are hidden in them and not mentioned on the label. It is this substance which is aparently the cause for me nearly having lost my life and taken me from perfect health (we won't mention the extra 20kg ;) to being on heart medication and suffering from angina, heart palpitations and rapid, irregular heart beats now.

I have resigned from my job, partly due to the fact that I need to rest so often due to my newly developed heart problem (at the ripe old age of 27) and am in financial strain due to all my hospital bills! *Why did she quit her job then???*

Aaah.. why did I indeed!

The motivation

Eeek.. Its my hubby's 10 year school reuninion on 20-21 August 2010. And I need to go.

Problem.

Since I gave birth 10 months ago, I have not been able to lose any baby weight and am now weigh approximately 72kg. And I used to weight a lean little 52kg. Now, maths is not my forté, but I would say that there is a difference of about.. 12kg.. No, who am I kidding?! More like 20kg!

Let not go overboard here - I was 18 then and am 27 now - so maybe 57kg goal weight would suffice.

Why am I so concerned about this reuninion, you may ask? I am just a year younger than Hubby and happened to have dated quite a few of the Surfer Studs in his year.. And was disliked by many of his female peers. The satisfaction of looking (and feeling) like a blimp is something I do not wish to give any of them.

Indeed I have been working very hard to lose weight (aparently not hard enough!) and this is just the motivation I need. But to really put myself out there, I am going to document my food and exercise and cheats and EVERYTHING here on this "online food diary!" (and hope that SOMEbody reads it to keep me motivated!) ;)
